Yes Twenty One Pilots Did That
In a move that will be talked about all week, Tyler Joseph and Josh Dunn of Twenty One Pilots dropped trousers while taking the stage to accept their Grammy Award for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance. Twenty One Pilots fought off competition from The Chainsmokers & Halsy, Lukas Graham, Rihanna & Drake, and Sia & Sean Paul.
After hearing their names called, the two stepped into the aisle and began to unbutton their pants right next to Dwight Yoakam. Only they knew what was happening in that exact moment in time as they walked to the microphone to accept their award. Viewers anticipated an answer to this bold move.
Joseph explained the reason behind the move came from their humble beginnings before he and Dunn were able to make money from playing music. Basically, the guys went from sitting in their undies watching the Grammys to actually winning an award at the Grammy’s. They told themselves if they ever made it to the Grammys and achieved that level of success, they would receive it in the same fashion it started. In those underoos!
The best part of their acceptance speech included a message for all aspiring artists and musicians. “So not only is this amazing, but I want everyone who’s watching at home to know, you could be next. Anyone from anywhere can do anything and this…is that.”
